This is a procedure that involves the application of a chemical peel solution to the skin, causing it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. This treatment is designed to improve the skin's texture, address specific skin concerns and promote a rejuvenated and refreshed appearance. Using mild acids such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are used to exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin. These peels are generally gentle and often require little down time. Medium peels that use Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) penetrate deeper into the skin, addressing more significate issues like fine lines, age spots and uneven pigmentation. Down time is required and the skin may visibly peel.
